Infuse of specialization on structure cities, rural habitat and landscape
Štěpánek, Martin ; Urbášková, Hana (referee) ; Suchánek, Radek (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
Specialization and concentration of human activity is a phenomenon which accompanies the development of human settlements from their very beginning. While thoroughly explored in other fields, interconnection between pecialisation, on one hand, and urbanism and architecture, on the other, has been neglected. Nevertheless, this issue is of high ignificance since it determines the settlement structure development to a large extent. If understood correctly, this underlying principle of the impact of specialisation and concentration on the settlement development offers a new insight into historical context and enables one to understand the present development.
Proměny urbánních prostorů městských sídel menšího měřítka (městys)
Smutná, Irena
The bachelor thesis is focused on the urban space changes, particularly of smaller town settlements (so called "městys"). It is a guide summarizing technical terms related to the urbanization process since the town establishment up to now in connection with individual historical layers, from the point of view of different architectonic events within time scale. The guide is intended for both urbanists on one hand and garden and landscape architects on the other hand. With the help of various available historical sources, it clarifies a layout and hierarchical system of entire urban and peri-urban space (as well as their mutual continuity), including the impact of landscape relief on them. There is defined the term of public space and explained its cultural meaning. In addition, all above mentioned facts are verified in reality, using four representative examples of small town settlements. The thesis is getting acquainted with the real space and functional aspects of urban scene. Its final result of field analyses is clearly described, as well as graphically designed in proposal arrangement of urban space system in particular small town settlement - Uhelná Příbram.
Settlement Desertion in Consequence of Opencast Brown Coal Mining in the Most District and Chomutov District - the Example of the ČSA Mine
Malá, Michaela ; Kučera, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Ženka, Jan (referee)
- Settlement Desertion in Consequence of Opencast Brown Coal Mining in the Most District and Chomutov District - the Example of the ČSA Mine The thesis deals with the settlement desertion due to the open cast mining of brown coal. The area of interest is the ČSA Mine which lies on the border of the Most and Chomutov districts. The first part is devoted to the changes in the settlement structure of the both districts in the 20th century, with the emphasis placed on the settlement desertion. The concentration of the settlement was affected not only by the destruction of residential structures, but also by the post-war transfer of Czech Germans and the process of urbanization. Population changes in the Chomutov and Most districts are processed also graphically. The other part of this work is focused on the ČSA quarry itself and the settlement destroyed as a result of its expansion. The regional ecological mining limits, set by the government in 1991, protect the villages of Horní Jiřetín and Černice against the advancing liquidation process. The issue of breaking those limits is processed using qualitative research - an analysis of interviews with representatives of neighboring municipalities, civic associations and mining companies. The analysis of the interviews is accompanied by the scenarios of...

Elasticita sídelní struktury a rozvoj sídel do krajiny: podíl zastavěného území a zastavitelných ploch v krajině
Jenčková, Barbora
The settlement structure undergoes a permanent change. Urbanization has been accompanied by gradual expansion of settlements into the landscape. In metropolitan areas, an increased demand for development areas creates pressure for identifying further plots to build at the expense of undeveloped landscape. The extent of existing urbanization around a metropolis is often not directly dependent on the natural conditions and morphology of the area, the distance and the relation to the metropolitan center being decisive. Settlements are forced to cope with change. An essential property of settlement structures is therefore adaptability. The elasticity of the settlement structure is therefore presented as a value that allows responding to changes. On the basis of theoretical conclusions, verified through case studies, the properties and characteristics of elastic settlement structures will be determined.
Elasticita jako určující faktor přirozené obnovy sídelní struktury
Jenčková, Barbora
The contemporary transformation of settlements and landscapes follows the transformation of lifestyle, the relationship of man to the landscape. The relationship to the soil as a source of livelihood disappears, the attitude of the inhabitants to the forms of settlements changes. Built area is expanding extensively, the scale and forms of settlement are changing, neoplasms have been written into the structure without any relation to the territory. Relations in the territory that create the properties of living structures are lost. The development of settlements in relation to the landscape recorded in the monitored period at least two problematic phases - the transformation of the land structure in the post-war period, and the last period of approximately 25 years, when there is a significant suburbanization. The way of spatial planning is signed on the form of landscape and settlement. It is therefore necessary to emphasize the creation of mutual relations, preservation of the landscape as irreplaceable value. Probably the traditional model of settlement provides a binding structure that has a sufficient elasticity for changing conditions. This hypothesis will be verified by the analysis of the functionality of the settlement structure, the case study focuses on the area of Židlochovice. The results should be compared with examples of other settlements in a similar cultural circuit.

A separate chapter is devoted to the analysis of several examples of archaeological research from the Czech lands and from western parts of Europe, which revealed situations classifiable to fortified manor, respectively castles, which was preceded by much less or not at all fortified settlements, while maintaining close spatial continuity. So the questions concerning the beginnings of that type settlements are pronounced. With this packet of problems the work deals applying a comparative analysis that leads to some reassessment of the importance of the Romanesque church with the western tower as a kind of reduction of the castle model known from contemporary (12th century) Western European regions...
